Waluyo Moreno are my two last names. I usually go by Djatmiko /jaht-me-kow/.
My story has always been split in two. Half Indonesian, half Mexican, it felt natural to live in parallel worlds and to build more than one path at the same time. Raised in a multicultural household, I became fully bilingual early on, educated in the U.S. while speaking Spanish daily. Years later, I lived in Indonesia, and along the way added Indonesian and Portuguese to the mix. In my quest to become a polyglot, even short breaks turn into quick lessons in French, Russian, or Náhuatl.
Beyond film, writing, photography, and sports, I’ve always dabbled with music, so I still pick up the guitar now and then to sing a song. I’m currently based in Mexico: always trying to travel, definitely always learning (now more than ever from my newborn baby), tending to a growing lime tree, and biking or jogging around with my doggos.
